Living By Faith

After a restless night, I woke up today with this beautiful, old hymn on my mind.   I wanted to share it with you.  I hope it brings you comfort like it did me!

“I care not today what the morrow may bring,
If shadow or sunshine or rain,
The Lord I know ruleth o’er everything,
And all of my worries are vain.

       Living by faith in Jesus above,
      Trusting, confiding in His great love;
      From all harm safe in His sheltering arm,
      I’m living by faith and feel no alarm.

Though tempests may blow and the storm clouds arise,
Obscuring the brightness of life,
I’m never alarmed at the overcast skies—
The Master looks on at the strife.

I know that He safely will carry me through,
No matter what evils betide;
Why should I then care though the tempest may blow,
If Jesus walks close to my side.

Our Lord will return for His loved ones some day,
Our troubles will then all be o’er;
The Master so gently will lead us away,
Beyond that blest heavenly shore.”
(James Wells, 1918)

O Glorious Day!!

Do you ever long for Heaven?   Boy, somedays I do!!   This has been one of those extra busy weeks, and if something could go wrong around the house, it seems it did!    First an appliance broke, then the van was in the shop for repairs, then last night our basement had water in it (what a mess!), plus sickness, and tons of school activities,……. enough!!!

I turned on the radio this morning and one of my new favorite songs came on, O Glorious Day, by Casting Crowns.

Living, He loved me
Dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
Rising, He justified freely forever
One day He’s coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day

One day the trumpet will sound for His coming
One day the skies with His glories will shine
Wonderful day, my Beloved One, bringing
My Savior, Jesus, is mine
Oh, glorious day

This world is just our temporary home, we are just passing through, and one day our Saviour will return to take us to our eternal home!   “What a day that shall be when my Jesus I shall see”!    When we go through weeks like this, and other trials that life may throw at us, it such a comfort to remember that this is temporary, one day it will all be gone, and we will be with Jesus!

If you don’ know Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, please don’t let another day go by without giving your life to Him!   One day He is coming back, O Glorious Day~!!!
