The bells chime…..

Yesterday I was filling the car up with gas, when the bells from the United Methodist Church across the street started chiming at the noon hour.   “Oh that’s so pretty” I thought, but then after the 12th chime, the bells started playing this beautiful old hymn (which is one of my favorites)……

He leadeth me, O blessèd thought!
O words with heav’nly comfort fraught!
Whate’er I do, where’er I be
Still ’tis God’s hand that leadeth me.

He leadeth me, He leadeth me,
By His own hand He leadeth me;
His faithful follower I would be,
For by His hand He leadeth me.

I had never heard bells chime a hymn like that, but the words to the song came to my mind and I knew it was exactly the encouragement that I needed that day!  Me being there and filling the car with gas at that moment was no accident!
God is good!!

I like the Martins rendition of this hymn the best!  Their looks are a bit outdated, but the song is timeless……. Enjoy!  🙂
