Father-filtered

I once heard someone say, “Because of God’s providence and His wonderful sovereign love – everything that happens to me is Father-filtered”.    That means the good, the bad, and the ugly – it’s all Father-filtered!   Nothing comes into my life that is a surprise to God.

In times of hardship, this is a comfort to me!  It’s my desire to get to the point, that when in the midst of a trial, I don’t just look to God for what He can “do” for me, but that I look for His face and His presence in my life.

God’s perspective ultimately is eternity, not just about the here and now.  2 Corinthians 4:16-18  “That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are[e] being renewed every day. 17 For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! 18 So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.”

Lord, through Your strength and Your power, help me not to focus on my problems, but to know that You can use all circumstances in my life to honor and glorify You.  Amen!!
