Almost 2 years ago, a friend introduced me to Young Living essential oils.  I had heard about essential oils, but had a total misunderstanding about what they actually were.  I was intrigued, but very skeptical!  I had already tried SO many different products for my health.   However, after much prayer and research, we decided to order some ‘oils’ and give them a try!

That proved to be a great decision!  We now love the oils and rely on them so much, I don’t know how we lived without them!!  I don’t sell the oils, but I love to share about them and teach others how to use them (there are many misunderstandings out there about ess. oils).

Let me briefly go through what a day of using the essential oils might look like for me……..

Morning:  Endoflex (rub on neck for thyroid support),  Orange (for Vit C), Juva Flex (rub over liver for liver cleanse), Frankincense (rub ‘around’ eyes for vision support), Nutmeg (on the lower back for Adrenal support).

Evening: Cedarwood and Lavender (rub on bottom of feet for restful sleep) DiGize (rub on stomach for digestion), Thieves (rub on bottom of feet for immune support), Progessence Plus (for female support – a must for every lady!!)

Those are just some basic ones that I use on a regular basis.  If I have a headache, I might use some Peppermint, or if I have a sore throat I’d use Thieves Lemon in my water is very tasty, and helps to balance pH levels!  If I need more energy I would use EnRGee or Valor, or if I had a stressful day at work I would rub on some Peace & Calming or Stress Away (both smell wonderful and are very calming!)  If I had bruising or inflammation I definitely would use PanAway.   Peppermint brings down a fever (although we rarely get sick now), and Lavender is great for any kind of burns or skin issues.

I could go on and on!  The saying around our house is, “Mom’s got an oil for that!”.    We have a book we use that has recommendations of essential oils for over 600 health-related topics – so yes, there is an oil for that!  😉  I’m so thankful for these natural oils, and especially thankful that a friend cared enough to share about them with me!    If you have any questions or would like more information feel free to contact me, I’d love to share more with you!

Cedarwood

Cedarwood is one of my new favorite essential oils.  It is mentioned over 40 times in the Bible, and was used in the building of King Solomon’s temple.  Can you imagine how pleasant the temple must have smelled, with its warm and woody aroma?  However, did you know that Cedarwood also has many beneficial medicinal uses? (if using a good quality, therapeutic ess. oil)

Cedarwood has an ORAC of 169,000, and is very high in sesquiterpenes (over 90%), which are oxygen delivering molecules capable of crossing the Blood Brain Barrier.

Some of the documented medicinal uses for Cedarwood are:
– relaxing and soothing
– ADHD
– skin conditions (acne, eczema, psoriasis)
– enhances sleep
– repels insects
– respiratory conditions (bronchitis, coughs, asthma, congestion)
– arthritis
